From humble beginnings to Gippsland's trusted roofing experts
Storm Coat Roofing was founded over 15 years ago with a simple mission: to provide Gippsland families with reliable, high-quality roofing services they can trust. What started as a one-man operation working out of a single ute has grown into one of the region's most respected roofing companies, built entirely on word-of-mouth recommendations and repeat customers.
Mitchell, our founder and lead tradesman, grew up in the Latrobe Valley and learned the roofing trade from his father, who spent 30 years working on roofs across Gippsland. That hands-on education instilled values that remain at the core of Storm Coat today: do the job right the first time, use quality materials, and treat every customer's home with respect.
Over the years, we've completed more than 500 roofing projects across the region—from emergency storm repairs in Churchill to full restorations in Warragul, and everything in between.
Today, Storm Coat serves communities from West Gippsland through to Sale, with a focus on the Latrobe Valley where we're based. We've grown our team to include experienced tradespeople who share our commitment to quality, but we've never lost the personal touch that comes with being a family business. With over 15 years of hands-on roofing experience, Mitchell leads every significant project personally. He learned the trade from his father and has built Storm Coat on the same principles of quality workmanship and honest service that defined his apprenticeship. Mitchell holds all required licenses and certifications for roofing work in Victoria and maintains ongoing training in the latest materials and techniques.
When he's not on a roof, Mitchell is actively involved in the Latrobe Valley community where he lives with his family. He personally inspects every job before it's signed off and is always available to discuss your roofing needs.
Our Crew
Our team consists of experienced tradespeople, most of whom have been with Storm Coat for multiple years.
